hey everyone, ive got a laptop and i want to transfer files from it to my desktop over a wireless connection. i am a total n00b when it comes to FTP, i would very much appreciate it if anyone would be kind enough to walk me through the process. thanks.

ive always used my xbox as a middle man cuz my pc's have a slow ftp to each other for some reason, so maybe try that if youve got your xbox to work yet

nah my XB still isnt up yet. im confused as far as setting it up goes. do i have to make a server, how to i access my PC contents from my laptop or vice versa? can i try to share certain folders from my PC over a network?

Go to My Network Connection and do Setup Home or Small Office Network on the left side.

ok i did the thing u suggested (thanks bTW), ut when i finish the wizard, it says that an error occured and that i should change the settings manually or redo the wizard with different settings. im not to sure what to do at this stage. can u help me out pls? thanks.

Yeah it was just telling you that you needed to Enable a Firewall because your PC is vulnerable etc etc. Its just some gay Windows crap.

o ok thanks, ur right i didnt have the firewall enabled. hey another question, when i have set up the network from my PC how do i access it from my laptop. sude note: if anyone can provide some guidance to a n00b on how to set up an FTP network from scratch, it would be greatly appreciated. thanks.
