i have to flash the dvd drive right- i am so lost- i have heard i have to open xbox- xbadvance.com mods the xbox for i think 69.99- should i let them do it or should i do it myself-i wanna do it myself-i have a dvd dl+r burner and want to play backup xbox 360 games-how?i am a little overwhelmed right this second

Yes you have to open it. You can check out the tut in the tutorial section for further guidance.
