how do i know if i have a crossover cable?

when i got broadband internet, my isp gave me a free broadband modem, included with it was all the necessary cables (to plug into the phone line, and a choice between using usb or ethernet to connect to the computer). Is there any way to tell if this is a crossover cable or not. it would be good to know before i start to softmod my xbox in case something goes wrong (not that i think it will, its just a precaution)?

they would not give you a crossove cable cuz there is no need for it in there setup, and if its the cable goin from modem to computer no it is not a crossover cable, u can buy a system link cable which is a 15 or so foot crossover cable for $7. i hope thishelps
