So I've got a job now and as soon as I get my first paycheck I'm going to get a quad core for my pc Cheesy but should I get the Q9550 or the Q9650? the Q9650 has only a slightly higher clock then the Q9550 and is also just about $100 more than the Q9550 I have an Nvidia 790i Ultra SLI so I can overclock it to 3.0Ghz which is what the Q9650 is and the Q9550 is 2.83Ghz. I think it would be better going with the Q9550 what's you're guy's opinions?

Go ahead with the 2.83 and overclock it you can probably achieve 3.2 GHZ with a nice fan. A good fan isnt $100 so it should be cheaper. Just make sure to buy a better fan

All in all, it was a good day. Especially considering I didn't even have to use my AK.

if your going to get a quad you may as well get a Core i7 as it's just as cheap and much faster/better =)

best to get a Core 17 920 or higher but the i5's are ok as well.

I really wanted to get the I7 but I wanted SLI and easy overclocking in the bios and the I7 SLI boards are all like $200+ and I don't really wanna spend that on a mobo when I still have to get ram and a CPU I got the Q9550 setup due to it being cheaper than the I7 setup pluse the only thing that's better about the I7 really is the HT tech and that it has SSE4.2 doesn't really feel like a good idea to spend more just for those. besides I'm moving from and E2200, The Q9550 is a huge jump from that lol plus I already ordered the Q9550  Tongue

Edit: I just got my Q9550!!! Cheesy
