I was just curious, why do people hack or like to hack? Like, whats so cool about it? What do you get out of it; dose any one care and do you win like an award or what?

This is just a question, to get information on a project paper I'm doing at school. So any ans would be nice

Me myself i do not see Modding systems as Hacking

Hacking to me is like taken over a Site or hit up some guys Pc and killing it etc etc

And for that i think All Hackers should DIE  as there is No need for it and they Just do it For fun or to Show Off to there So called friends.

hey without hackers we wouldnt have xbox mods right now cause technically what they did to mod the xbox was hack its security system so yeah im sorry but its true

They Modded (aka) Modified files.  In no way did they Need to HACK files.

yeah i have said something similair to that in one of my rants

hacking is taken to mean anything that you can do to break any security on anything now adays

however, the people who create keygens\break security are actually called crackers (to to be confused with cracka) and some live on teh idealistic notion "everything should be free" others just like to buck the system, still others just want some "fame"

me personally i learned how to make keygens to improve security on my programs, i cracked to learner

and the real true def for a hacker is simply a very knowledgeable person with regards to computers, its just been distorted over the years

technically we are all hackers if we can do what we do with the xbox and psp and such
very few of us are "crackers", being able to break encryption is actually a thrilling experience however, being able to take control over a program once bound in security is just reallly cool to do!

but yeah hackers crackers and crackas are widely misused terms
if you rember this simple conversion all thoughts seem to make sense.....

the fact that with just someones name and date of birth you can get a 500$ credit line means that its a quick score, which is what everyone is looking for in the debased world

The word hacker is pretty much a useless word on the internet these days. To get a proper response you will need to tell us which sense you mean, otherwise you will just get some walls of text about different definitions.

Identity theft is exactally what is says, basically pretending to be someone else for your own benefit(not always money, it could be anything).
