xboxhd help plz

ok, im not new to softmodding....however, the last time i did it was  a long time ago, lol...newho, here are the specs of the pc i am using for this job

lite on sata dvd drive
evga 780i
500GB hdd ide

....

ok, problem is that i get the linx cd not found, please insert and try again, error.....is this because the hard drive is running on an ide channel and my cd in the sata channeL? if so, is there any other way to format the hdd and to lock it with the key and whatnot? i do not have access to another motherboard/dvd drive. any help would be appreciated.

yeah try the other computer, maybe and make sure that the HDD is on the Primary Master and their are no other HDD attached.

so yea, apparently it isnt possible to do both on seperate channels and or the dvd drive needs to be on a pata channel and not a sata channel because of the linux configuration that xboxhdm uses. =/

its has to be IDE

everything has to be IDE
(you can use converters)

ok so as long as i can get them on the same ide channel its alright?

xbox hdd on primary IDE, set as master
cd\dvd drive on secondary IDE, set as anything

thats your safest bet
