hey everyone, ive been wanting to make one of these for a long time, a PSX to USB. i bought a multi player (AKA: multitap) extension for my PSX so u can hook up like 4 players to it.
the multitap looks like this:

i was hoping i could wire it to my PC so it would look like:

"PSX controller" ------> "multitap" ------> "USB" ------> "PC"

and then be able to get drivers and go from there...
any advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks.\\

little Info for you

Xbox gamepad can be made into a USB for PC because the Xbox uses USB  just not the same Port format

thus all you have to do is set a USB in the wires And Done

Well with other Gamepads lke N64, Nintendo, SNES, PSX PS2   they Are Not USB

Thus can not just slap on a USB at the end and say your done =)

for stuff like this you're Need a converter

There Are ways to make it in to a DB25 contorler port

great thanks, i was just on that site. i understand the whole science behind the USB, i guess i just forgot to mention that i wasnt looking for specifically USB, that any input to the PC would work. thanks for the page.

id like to make that...

if you look in a psx controller then you will see more than 4 wires so usb isnt possible without a proper converter and software. just try that page and then write a simpler tut if you can.

found something, it does it all, u can connect a whole controller port plus card slot w/o any external power with just soldering to a DB25 male.

Haha, this reminds me of a story, just like 2 weeks ago I went into radioshack, and there was this kid that brought in  his laptop (totaly nerdy looking). He was looking for a usb controller to play his emulators cuz he didnt like using the keyboard but, he couldnt get the emus to reconize the controllers. Then he said with his nerdy voice that sounded like he was gasping for air and had a cloths pin on his nose, if he couldnt get any to work, that he would soilder a usb plug on his n64 controller. Me being nosey... said, he you can do that. he asked why, I said because the main reason is they use a different current. Then he told me i didnt know what i was talking about, and that i dont know anything about pc's. I just laughed and walked away. I just though i might share that story hehe.
