Error 13 when I tried to change dash to UnleashX

FFS im pissed. I shoulda just left it alone 

Heres wat happened. I had XBMC running as my dash and I wanted to change it to Unleash so I copied the 'xboxdash.xbe' into my C: drive and removed the old one, then I told XBMC that this would be my dash. So i went to the shutdown blade in XBMC to test it by telling it to load the Dashboard and it worked. Then in UnleashX I go to reboot and the xbox restarts and gives me an error 13... I eventually got it to load the original M$ dash by using the dashupdate from Halo 2.

So what I need to know is how do I get the xbox back to how it was (with my files as they were) I cant get an FTP connection to it, there is still a SID4_Splinter_Cell_PAL  and  SID4_MechAssault save on the HD that I can see. Am I able to create a boot CD that will let me load a modded dash again or do I have to re-softmod? If so will I lose my files (music, games etc) stored on the HD?

EDIT: I have my eeprom and msdash backed up on my PC and I had someone else mod the Xbox and install a bigger HD. Im pretty sure they used SID 3.1 Final to softmod.

Just delete that Crap SID and Put a Real Softmod on there (Krayzie Ndure) and softmod  you will not Lose Any files by resoftmodding

hey you should try risking your life and do a hotswap then

pop in whatever game you modded it with in the first place and load up "run linux" and then remod it

once it's all done, FTP to your xbox and put the NDure Exploit in the proper place and erase your SID one.

put in slayers autoinstaller CD and restore the hdd to stock. ( don't use the SID to do it... it's not on your hdd anymore and will cause problems )

now you have M$ dash again, but now you also have NDure save to mod your xbox with!

remod and your finally done.
