Error Codes

I have had an xbox since it came out almost. My xbox is version 1.0.  Kernel is 1.0.39** i cant remember exactly, but the thing is i heard all this talk of error codes, i had never seen them. then i got an xbox off ebay and softmodded it, while the harddrive was hotswapped there came the error screen with a big 21 in the corner.  did i screw something up on mine, i dont care it works fine, i just though it was interesting. Did they not have error codes on the v1.0 systems?

they haave errors on all systems. you just havent been stupid(or unlucky) enuf to get one. error 21 is dash not found

when you hotswap it will give you error 21, right. I have hotswapped had the green letters on the screen but never got a code in the upper left corner. Now when i did the same proccedure on a newer xbox got the screen and and error code this time. I have tired to inflict error codes: unplug hard drive, dvd or both. Got the screen no error, just says you need service.

thats wen you have more then one error. if you hotswapped a normal unsoftmodded drive it wudnt unlock or have thedash so error 6 and 21

retried every error code i could control and never got a single message up top. mine doesnt give error codes. stranger things have happend
