This tutorial assumes you have a working distro with NET connection, LAN connection and NAT setup.

Step 1: Download kaid, you dont need any gui.
Step 2: Extract it.
Step 3: As root copy kaid to /usr/bin and kaid.conf to /etc/
Step 4: Edit kaid.conf (in /etc/).
Change only these values. leave the rest as-is.
UIBind = :34522
OrbPort = 34525
EngineBind = 0
EnginePAT = 0
SniffDevice = eth1 (replace eth1 with whatever your network card your xbox is on)
Username = roundyz (your kai username - as setup on xlink site)
Password = *******noway (your kai password - as setup on xlink site)
AutoLogin = 1 (to make is easy)

Step 5: Save it and exit. No need to restart.
Step 6: Type (as root) kaid -c /etc/kaid.conf & (thanks to fer on #softmods)
Step 7: Now if you have a firewall then you need to change some port traffic gates (if not goto step 9)
Step 8: Edit your firewall to allow
port 34522 for LAN
port 34545 for ALL LAN AND NET
port 37500 for ALL LAN AND NET
Step 9: Boot media center on your xbox. Edit your kai settings under program settings.
Step 10:Make sure all cables are in etc. And all cards are on and working.
Step 11: If the icon comes up at the bottom of xbmc then you are cooking, you should get a notice of what orbital server you are connected to. Just choose a game that you wish to play and enjoy. Wanna change arena? just reboot media center..

You can leave kai running on a console on your pc..Linux hardly ever crashes and kaid lays dormant after a while..

Anyway, any problems?
