In the Game Development Conference (GDC), LocoRoco developer Mr. Tsutomo Kouno discussed the game's creation and the stuff he would like to put into the next iteration of this cult classic. He wants to use physical calculations for drawing characters in the next game. In addition, he wants to incorporate advanced crowd artificial intelligence (A.I.) into the game. He wanted this new A.I. to influence how the LocoRocos' move to dodge various obstacles or dangers.

In terms of game presentation, Mr. Kouno wanted to improve on the music in the game and the visual effects. (As if it needed more; we here at QJ.NET already sing the LocoRoco song to each other.)

However, the major change he presented was this: "I'd like to use a new way of playing the game for the next version of Sony's LocoRoco." A new way? How will we move the blobs around now? Will my LocoRocos still be able to jump? Can I still tilt the level?

To this end, the statement that struck us was the response of Mr. Kouno to a member of the audience who asked "Will this be released for the PSP or the PS3?" Smiling, Mr Kouno replied "I'm not going to betray your expectations. You can count on this," and that's good, because a lot of LocoRoco fans (including most writers at QJ), have been waiting as patiently as they can for the sequel.
