Softmod help

Im new to the whole modding thing, my good comp just died and I need something to do. 
Is there any way to install of softmod without needing a flash drive or a memory card?  Can I somehow transfer files over the network and go from there?  Or what would be the cheapest way to go?  Don't have a whole lot of money.

I went to this site and it's sweet! it tells you step by step how to mod your xbox using a file on your memory card to put evox on your xbox it seemed preaty simple but does anyone have any idea of how to put a file on your xbox memory card?

u can either buy something called Action Replay, itll cost u a bit of moolah. or u could hack an existing XB mem card, which is a little more risky, but a hell of a lot cooler
