I tried taking off the cover and it makes the noise like its trying to open, and im not sure if this relates but my 360 powre button light thingy is flashing yellow? what does that mean?

Thank you! I was worried about the DVD drive kinda short on money lately can't replace games. EDIT: Another question I have (sorry, and I think I know the answer) is will a soft mod screw with bought games and xbox live? (My dad forced me to ask)

Is it reversable? Does it ruin the warranty? Can I still download Xbox Live content without updating the mod? Do I need a DVD Drive for my 360? Sorry about all the questions but may come back with more.
