hey yall due to certain reasons i had my tv confiscated from my room n now playin XB is more or less impossible. i did howevever find an old LCD monitor in my closet, sooo... i was wondering if there was any way 4 me to hook up the XB to the monitor?
i was hoping that there might be a way to make the cable that connects the monitor to the comp tower be RCA compatible so that i can hook up the cable to the monitor and make the other end have RCA females. then i can just plug in the XB n play. possible?

591  Xbox / Questions / Re: can the N64 controller be used on the XB? on: October 30, 2006, 06:21:23 AM
that makes sense. ill look into getting the converter since u said its not costly. but im stil confused on the actual converter would work. how does it use the USB interface?
592  Xbox / Hardware / Re: question about installing grill LEDs on: October 29, 2006, 09:44:38 PM
o so it doesnt have to be exact, just like real close. cuz im guessing 20 guage is like electrical wire, which is probably different that like a the wire in the USB cord. so i was gonna take apart an extension cord (electric) and maybe use that wire.

594  Xbox / Questions / can the N64 controller be used on the XB? on: October 29, 2006, 02:25:54 PM
hey everyone, thanks to this forum, i have successfully modded and installed various apps including Surreal64 on my XB. so thanks very much. i noticed that there is a controller config for surreal and  it configs buttons of the N64 to the XB controller. however i was wondering if an original N64 controller can be hooked up to the XB. so i tried my hand at it. i already had made a USB (female) to XB (male) cord (shown below)

and i tested it with a keyboard and it worked on the XB. so i put a USB (male) end of the N64 controller (shown below)

>>Solder closeup<<

and connected in to the USB-XB cord. so it looks like:

when i connected the thing to the xbox and tried using it with surreal, it didnt work. i think this is usually becuase the system doesnt have the hardware driver. so i checked online for an N64 USB hardware driver, and i found one. i then plugged in the hacked controller into my PC and the comp detected it but didnt recognize it. so is there anyway that i can connect the controller. and if and when i do, can i transfer the drivers to the XB and hopefully use the controller to play Surreal? thanks.

if the extension is *.v64 is there any way to change it to *.z64?
596  Xbox / Questions / Re: Am i able to softmod my xbox? on: October 29, 2006, 09:17:32 AM
yeah dude, like bozz454 said, it should work fine. my XB is 1.6 and i used AR with Krayzie's SC exploit and it worked fine.
597  Xbox / Hardware / question about installing grill LEDs on: October 28, 2006, 10:11:16 AM
hey i found this tutorial online about installin side grill LEDs to the XB and it calls for 20-22 gauge wire. now i checked out the radioshack and its real expensive for like a little roll of 20 g. so i was wondering what wires around the house are composed of 20 or 22 g. speaker or USB wire perhaps? thanks.
