556  Xbox / Questions / rip your games up! save space on: August 01, 2005, 04:59:02 PM
I took halo2 and took out ALL the single player maps...... ( BTW- all the SP maps are named like A10 or something, and are all way bigger than MP maps ) also keep the "shared"
now it's olny 1.6 gigs !!! big diff from the orig....
I've done the same in the past to many games....
halo 1 is around 3 gigs, after you take out all the SP maps it's only 900mb
ANY game you have ... take out the dashupdate and live content... good way to put your harddrive on a diet

thanks bout it

558  Ramblings - Misc Talk / All Yours / Off Topic / Re: Xlink Kai and/or XB Connect Questions on: August 01, 2005, 04:50:26 PM
xlink kai   fools the xbox into thinking it's on a local lan ( like in your home ).
http://www.teamxlink.co.uk/  is where you can find it. download it for whatever OS you have.
you can also download it for you XBMC dash!
when you run it from your xbmc dash it's nice and handy if you don't have the PC near by.
I choose the regular dash, gives me the same options and if I'm hosting I can kick or ban people.

once you download xlink, install and run the config for how you want to run it ( PC or XBMC )
for PC choose option "normal pc user"
for XBMC choose option "engine only (for dashboards"
then run Xlink, if it's on dashboard mode only the engine will show up in the icon tray
if the pc user option is on, you'll see the window for it.

anyhow, check with the faq in it and portforward the port you're using for it, and check any firewall settings you may have.

have fun,

563  Xbox / Tutorials / Adding & Using EvoX Trainers on: July 27, 2005, 04:14:40 PM
Adding & Using EvoX Trainers

(1) Get some  .ETM  files
(2) FTP to your xbox
(3) Go to    C:/Trainers
(4) Transfer your new .etm files into the trainers folder
(5) Use the EvoX dashboard and select the "Trainers" option
(6) Select the trainer, then choose the cheats
(7) /\fter confirming put the game in the DVD rom or choose it off the hard drive
(Cool Play.

also some trainers are .Xbe files
to make these trainers work you must:
(1) Manually choose the .Xbe - this means using file explorer and going to  C:/Trainers  and clicking on the .Xbe
(2) Once you click on the .Xbe file it will give you a cheat menu, select your cheats.
(3) Follow the instructions on playing the game off the HDD or DVD and select your type.
(4) Play.

NOTE:
Some trainers have "IGK" ( In Game Key )
IGK means you can turn on or off the trainer while you're playing
Every game has a different IGK, in the cheat menu it will tell you the IGK

I have the evox.ini file already fixed at the bottom of this post.
have fun, and happy modding

What you need:

1) Modded Xbox with Evox dash (1.8.1812 or later) installed.
2) A 10 GB HD (The one that comes preinstalled in any Xbox).
3) FTP ability and knowhow.
4) About 10 min.

1) Connect your pc to your xbox using your favorite ftp client (eg. FlashFXP).
2) Create a backup copy of your evox.ini file.
3) Create a new evox.ini based on your backup and replace everything under "[Menu]" with :

For EvolutionX version 1.8.2594 till v1.8.3285

Section "Root"
{
Item "MS Dashboard",@3
Item "Reboot",@5
Item "Power Off",@10
Item "Format F:",@210

}

[Action_10]

Info "Format F"
Warning "This will format F"
Progress "Formatting F"
#
# This will format F:\
#
Format f:

For EvolutionX v1.8.3682 or higher (newer)

Section "Root"
{
Item "MS Dashboard",ID_MS_Dash
Item "Reboot",ID_Quick_Reboot
Item "Power Off",ID_Power_Off
Item "Format F:",@210

}

[Action_10]

Info "Format F"
Warning "This will format F"
Progress "Formatting F"
#
# This will format F:\
#
Format f:

4) Save your changes and FTP it back to the Xbox. (or in FlashFXP you could just open it in edit mode)
5) Reboot your Xbox, select "Format F:"
6) Select Yes (warning anything on F:\ will be erased)
7) Wait 1/2 a second
Cool FTP your original evox.ini file
9) Reboot.

You should now have more space on your original Xbox HD.
