Been away from the modding/hacking scene for a while now. But I will be using this thread as a blog for the Anroid os and what I can get out of it. I purchased a Desire HD and it should be here tomorow Smiley . I've been reading around on xda-dev for a couple weeks so hopefully this should be fun! If there is enough interest we might work in a android or smartphone in general subsection.

Have fun. I hear it's pretty easy since they found the root exploit on the new android 2.0.

yeah, also overclock it and make sure to calibrate your battery correctly after you install a custom kernal. i have the Epic 4G rooted, and its very nice... i do reccomend cyanogen if your device supports it though, there is active support for that rom and it usually is the best for each device. unfortunatly cyanogen for the epic is still in prealpha mode so.... im using a leaked froyo (2.2) rom. Good luck, happy modding.

All in all, it was a good day. Especially considering I didn't even have to use my AK.

Well my phone came with 2.2 there is already a cyanogen 2.3 out for my phone but I don't think its fully stable. Haven't calibrated it but doesn't matter to much since the overclock has no overvolt its only 200mhz over stock

you HAVE to calibrate it everytime you flash a different kernal. Kernals have different battery control situations, and if your battery isnt calibrated... then you have a battery that isnt being used to its full potential, for some phones this isnt a problem, but for mine, it gets me about 4 hours less battery. its still highly reccomended.

There was never a warning so I guess my phone doesn't need it? Under normal usage my phone only last about 12hours so I would know instantly if I lost 4 hours lol

Stock was 1ghz, running 1.22 right with the ability to run 1.53 but that would require a overvolt
