Well today I bought an old xbox Crystal and a pile of games and controllers for £25 .... one of the games was splinter cell, and as I have built a few arcade machines , I have decided I want xbox (original) and coinops (possibly lite to start with) to run the hub of my next machine, so I ordered an action replay from the internet (cost more than the bargain pick up!!) - then came to this old site (yes I was part of the original SMDEPOT crew - holla ZZK2001) and cant believe it still here ... Just posted the coinops packages (and more to come) on my site HTTP;//www.arcadepunk.co.ukSo anyway gonna do the mod old school style SC and AR , and then get lite installed on stock, then read up how mode the controller so i can fit to a control panel and hack the power switch , all exciting stuff, nice to see some familiar names! Xbox / Questions / Re: A Few Questions about updating

No the whole pupose is to not have to go into the folder... Remember inside the folder is a .actors foler, a db info file, some other bits and pieces and stuff, as well as the AVI , I am trying to make this kid friendly as well as 'mum' friendly for when she house sits for me soon At present XBMC opens up within the Movie Folder , so you see all the covers and such of the movies, then a simple button press to play , instead of going within the folders or white button, down then play.... I have checked the 2 mentioned sites before hand without much success , infact even the live chat you get 'flamed' for any reference to the xbox1 , really bad considering the XBOX 1 is what made XBMC so popular originally ! As for the 750gb drive, I would like to give you a destination for purchase, but the sad truth is that the XBOX was hard modded by a previous owner , who also fitted the 750gb drive, and that the thing only came into my possession recently because of a debt owed to me. Thats as much information as I have.

Thanks again for the reply , the XBMC update seems simple enough.
As for the remapping of the green button, it is purely an entertainment thing that makes me want it to just PLAY the folder without going into it.....

Thank You for your answer RealG123 XBMC is my dashboard, are you sure its safe to delete it and replace it ? So simply delete the entire XBMC folder and replace with a new one? I am looking for a way to 'remap' the green button, so that i dont have to go into the folder to play each xvid (some movies are in 3 parts), so that the green button does the equivilant to white button then down to play Thank you again for answer Ninja

Xbox / Questions / A Few Questions about updating

Hi Guys So since my last visit to the forums, (at the time I had hardmodded box and issues) , I have now purchased 6 xbox's (1 for each of the kids and 1 for myself). I have softmodded them using Krayzie Ndure Splinter Cell Exploit Pal (which by the way is not in the files section of the site, so I have linked them incase anyone still needs them @ http://hackmywii.net/downloads?category=44) and then I used the ZZK2001 installer disc , which I installed XBMC as dashboard. Now a few questions to help me on my way.... (1) - The XBMC included is an old version, what do I need to do to update it to the latest tech version? (2) - Is there anyway I can 'reprogram' XBMC so that when browsing folders I press the Green Button and it Auto Plays ? Or would it be better for me to get some dvd remotes for the xbox ? (3) - I have installed some Emulators on my hardmodded box as it has the bigger drive (750gb) I am guessing I just ftp the downloaded emu roms over to the roms folder, do they remain in .zip format when I ftp them over or should I extract them ? Thanks Guys

YAY !! All up and running , although I had to use the Slayers disk and some messing with the X3 settings to do it, then just ftpd over the XBMC latest tech release, replacing the .xbe to the XBMC one, now it auto boots into the dash
Runnign PM3.hd SKIN, I have it auto booting into the VIDEO folder, although it just shows me the MOVIES FOLDER, ADD SOURCE and VIDEO PLUGINS
I would prefer to edit somethign so that it goes directly INTO the MOVIES folder (the movies folder being my added source from the network)
Also I remember editing it many moons ago so that instead of goign itno folders browsing it would just AUTO PLAY the folder...
So nasically fi I can get my Network Share Movie Folder up on boot, then pressing (A) (or any button would be nice) , would just auto play the selected folder.. I know it can be done , i did it many moons ago...
And YES Definately agree, Softmod was SOOOOO MUCH EASIER !!
thanks in advance

Not getting much joy to be honest Let em explain the situation again The Hdd has been formatted by X3 and the partitions created, but as yet NOTHIGN is on the drive So i run the installer you sent me , installed it to e , set the dashboard to e, made sure it chose xbmc.xbe to boot from (even tried changing it to default.xbe) and still nothing... I can assure you chip and drive are working well, can you suggest anything esle that may be stopping it , I would love to get this thign sorted ASAP as I want to replace the PS3 in the lviing room with the xbox as I MUCH prefer XMBC Couple of questions : 1 - What is the name of the xbe file it tries to load ? 2 - Why wont it work (edited after 1 hour of trying and going nuts!!!) Thank You

No - I need the installer disk... I do have a hardmod as mentioned... I really need the installer CD , as I currently have NO dash, I can only boot directly to the chip and or from a CD... Thanks for the input anyways dude .. Just awaiting ZZK2001 and his technical skills to create me that disk

Looking at the settings, I can change the drive of the dashboard, to C,E,F,G , although there are no dashboards installed anywhere (formatted hdd through x3 options)..
On a footnote, am I correct in thinking I could 'prep up' another Hdd for an unmodded machine with this hard modded machine ?
Thanks again
