Xenium ICE fo sho

I would have to say a Xenium ICE is my favorite chip which is what is in my xbox. I use it to fix all of my friends xbox's and to install bigger hard disk drives in the softmod xbox's i do! I would def. reccomend this chip!

I have a smart XX chip in 1 of my xboxes... that cuz I didn't know any better.

now I use the bios the xbox already has and change it to whatever I want it to be...

to me, it does all the same. and for the ppl I mod for up here, they prefer softmod. to keep warrenty and you can remove softmods. jsut in case..

but hey
why do all that soldering?
use what M$ sold ya!

I like to believe that the people who do hardmods are more 'Hard'core modders then people who do softmods because when you do a hardmod you have to be certain that you aren't going to f*** something up! Softmods are for the less experienced modder that just wants to get the job done quickly and without any pain.

I am not trying to insult anyone in here, it's just that's my opinion.

I do take a small bit of offense to that. I've been modding for a long time... like ps1 style.. when you had to solder.. no matter what. I think softmods for xbox's are just as good or really close to chips. I don't think it has anything to do with experience or skill. Infact, most of the guys here are better at what they do then most chip modders i've met. Plus, I think it requires a certain level of skill and finess to soft mod. You don't just put in a chip and gain control of the entire box. You have to know alot more about how the xbox works to make a soft mod work. Even more to customize it. Which all of us have done at one time or another.

So that's what I think. I think chips are cool, if you want to add hardware to your xbox, but in no way do i think chippers are more skilled at modding that us Soft Modders. That's just my humble opinion.

LOL. I think both Softmods and Mod chips have their advantages. I personally prefer to do soft mods. No shipping wait time, no soldering, no small wires to stick in holes, etc. But dont' get me wrong... modchips are where it all started. And to be honest, I wouldn't mind having a sweet chip and an lcd screen on the front of my xbox. What i'd do w/ it I couldn't tell you, but man, that'd be dope. YES I SAID DOPE. dope. i like that word......

Yeah I would give a lot for a X3 w/ a LCD screen, but for now I am stuck w/ one broken Xenium ICE xbox and one working Xenium xbox.

2. be for Auto installers a Softmod was Way Harder then Installing Mod chips =)

zzks one of the founding fathers.... hes been here a while - made loads of our starting tutorials. But number of posts don't matter... quality not quantity(not that zzks posts arent quality *bows*) - on founding fathers - is NOS still around?

When i was first modding my own xbox, i was going to get a smartxx chip. This was mainly due to missinformation and misunderstandings on my part. But anyways i made the right decision(a softmod). I too have a chipped PS1 though but times change.

It seems sillyness to attempt a modchip install when theres an easier, cheaper and simpler solution.
