Hey, boost remember how u said it would be ok to put LED's in my controller?
well i got bored and i took out, 2 clear led's
put them right beside the rumble motors, and it lights up fine
but i was just llooking around some sites,
and it says you need resistors, or the controller blows up and s**t,
uhh? im kinda scared,
can anyone tell me if this is true, cuz i better take those 2 led's out
i didnt put anything on them, just 2 plain leds and cut up the motor wires, and put them in..
so whenever the controller rumbles, the led's turn on...

a friend of mine Tony did his controller like that with the LED's in the motor wire
it worked fine for the 3 weeks that I knew him.

I seen online that they say use resistors and such, the resistors would be a good idea overall.
but it looks pretty cool all the same when it flashes when your getting shotup on halo.

let me know what you do and what happens.

i looked around to see if i have any nice led's couldnt find,
went to basement, and found a box of christmas lights,
i took out some, took out the led's from the plastic holders,

and i cut open the red and black wires for the motor, and connected the led,
did this to both motors,
then i was stuck basicly
because there is no way to shove those led's under the controller motherboard,
so wat i did, is i carefully placed them under them motor, so when it flashes, it will flash on the handle bars,
the led's i had were way too big too put on the top of controller, anyway

so i tried with 2 yellow,
they came on but it just didnt look bright,
so i took 2 white, and now they flash real hard, and its tight,
i thought, well thats not gonna do it,
so i tried pluggin 2 more, but leaving them on the back
so when it flashes, the bottom of the controller flashes too,
that didnt work out, because it seemed like there wasnt enough power for all the lights,
one would shine very dim, while others would shine bright,
i was gonna make a paralel circuite so its better, but its just not enough space and i was scared i'll rip the motor wires,
so i just took out the 2 extra, and i left in the 2 on the controller handles,
they look good, but i just dont want them to screw anything up, i'll hook u up w/ some pics soon..

ok i got some quick pictures, there was something wrong with my camera and it would take blurry shots, so i did the best i could..

ok this is my controller, normal

here are the 2 led's lit up, im holding the right trigger so it'll rumble

heres what it looks like, under the controller *note: i was gonna put 2 more leds to really light it up, but it had power problems like i said*

XMAS lights used:

light with the plastic cover

it was hard for me to get a shot of the led alone, cuz camera probs, so i managed to take this one with flash, its the best i could get

thanks, the leds are too big to put on the front of the controller,
if i happen to go anywhere i'll look up some small leds, and get some wires so i can extend it to the front of the controller...
