Hey guys Whats up, This has got to be THE best softmod site out there!!  I have learned alot and still have a ways to go..

Anyway I do have a problem. I've done the SC softmod, used the unleasheX dash, and installed XBMC, and a few emu's.  That all works just fine.
I wanted to back up my Maden game and let my kid use it, so he wouldn't mess up the OE.  I first copied everything from the disk (D:) from the xbox to my pc w/smartFTP.  Then with Qwix I patched the defult.xbe file and made the ISO (or xiso.).  From there I burned the iso with nero to a dvd+r.
When I view the disk with unleashex it shows all the files.  BUT the game will not run.  I get an error..
" There's a problem with the disc you're using.  It may be dirty or damaged."

Anybody know what I did wrong???

Thanks for the help !!
I'm not trying to put anything on the stock HD, it's way too small.  Maden  06 is a little over 3gb.  I put xsnes9x on a dvd+r and it works, but it only plays one game.  If you want to play another game I have to eject it and close the tray again.  Maybe it is the +r screwing me up.  I've got 1 or 2 -r's.  I'll try that.

I'll let ya know how it goes.   Thanks again.

ok well all's not so good...
After burning to DVD-r it does load up the game but... It takes longer for the game to start, and it freezes at random points it the game.  I have yet to finish a whole game on Maden '06.
Sometimes it freezes 2nd quater, somtimes 3rd or 4th.

When I get around to it I will buy new media (-r's) and try again.

Does burning at the slowest speed actualy make a difference?  the dvd's are 8x and I burned them at 4x.  I know there 8x so they are a little dated.  Like I said I will get some new disks soon.

yes speed matters, the slower the better & brand matters the most reliable brands are Memorex, Maxell, Sony, and Vibramm.

if you get the sale CD's at the dollar store, you're going to need to buy asprin as well.

get a good DVD-R and try those

"your fotrune today says" "fire is fun, burn is good. just remeber to burn slow"

BOOST i've heard that alot, and i think it is not right
i've used dvd+r all the time, simply because my writers cant burn dvd-r's
the only time one didnt work, was my halo2 and it had candle wax on it for some reason,
but after i cleaned it off it worked...
and i've tried around 4 different versions of dvd+r's
and they all seem to work Shocked

Well most readers have an easier time reading DVD-Rs than DVD+Rs.

i changed the bitsettin of my drive to burn to DVD-ROM, otherwise it burned only as DVD+R. but the speed is hella slow. it burn at lik 2.4x. not bad cuz slower speed is prolly better, but i always face a problem when buying media. like i bought this 100 pack of FUJIFILM DVD+Rs which said it burns with 1x-16x burners... apparently not. this is not the first time either, its always hit or miss with my burner, most of the time miss. like almost no media in the stores work with it. i wish they still made 4x disks, then id have not problem. dude, i gotta get one of em external burners that burn high speed CD/DVD+-R, Dual Layer DVD, and all that shiz nit. all i need is cash... the quest continues.

For movie editing reasons i got the Hp dvd movie writer dc3000

its got s-video and the other component, forgot the name
anyways i burn with that
i also have a cd-writer in my case + a dvd reader
the dvd reader came with the box around 6 years ago, and back then it was the tightest thing you could get, the cd-writer was like even longer
anyways...

the only problem i have with this external is, it heats up insanely high,
on the side it has a usb slot, and when i just touch the usb metal i cant keep my finger on it for 10 seconds or i'll burn
when you put a usb stick or something in there and after 20 seconds you take it out, it gets insanely hot
im not sure if its ment to be like that or there is something screwed up but yea thats only tiny bit concern i have about it.

it still looks a like a pretty stellar device. i just want an external burner with a lot of funcitons, problem is that they are really expensive. so i was gonna get an internal burner and then get one of those IDE to USB cables offa ebay and hook it up to me PC externally. whatdya think?

might work, but might not
i dont think its the best idea, cuz having a internal working as external kinda looks ugly and just sounds wrong
