ok, well i want to ftp to my box but the ip address is like 0.00.000.00 what do i need to do to fix this? i know it supose to be like 182.... so on

okay well, u need to give a itsy bit more info?
how is it put together?
are you going straight from xbox to computer?
are you going from xbox to router, router to computer?
or xbox to computer, computer to modem?

im goin from xbox through crossover cable(idk if that parts right), to linksys switch, and from there to cp

set it to static... most likely it is set to dhcp and your router does not give it an address, so change your xbox's ip to static and enter the ip manually

Linksys Switch, you mean router. And is there internet going into the router. Also its called a network cable. And I can't help you.

of coarse there onternet going into the router/ switch

when you connect to a router you do not need a cross over
its only for straight to computer,
make sure the settings on ur xbox is set to static ip, YES
uhh i think xbox-scene had a nice pdf on how your suppose to have ur settings to make it work
