when i connect to live do i need to turn off the soft mod or completely remove it to prevent myself from being banned.

EDIT: also if i turn off te soft mod will dual boot also shut down?

Turning it off should do the trick, but then again I don't have XBL so I wouldn't know.

I don't understand the second part of your question.

Second question - turning the softmod off will effectively leave a retail xbox (plus your modified files). so yes, dual boot options will be inactive.

But if you have dual retail mode enabled (easiest in krayzies ndure) you do not need to turn off your mod, you just boot with the eject button and you are live safe.
