hi newguy here:
Just bought my kid a psp 3000 has firmware ver 6.30 can i soft mod it...if so where do i get the files i need. It is brand new never been played.
any help greatly appreciated!!

Oh man 3000, well you can't do custom firmware yet with 6.30.


So homebrew is your only choice right now with the help of HBL
http://www.psp-hacks.com/2011/01/23/half-byte-loader-r113-signed-released-for-psp-firmware-6-37/
this will help you to run homebrew apps with no problem since its signed.

Also I don't recommend updating from 6.30, but its your choice. =)

you'll need to look up CFW, I have not keep up with newer CFWs for PSP or downgrades

You may get some help from here

But thing again it could just confuse you LOL  Grin

BTW Snipes101  6.30 can be downgraded now and place 5.50Gen CFW or whatever on it =P
