DNS
« on: January 12, 2011, 09:05:23 AM »

Hi guys. Could any explain to me how DNS works. I know very little about it.
So far this is what I know.
It stands for Domain Name System
- We type in a website address->website address goes to a server which converts it into an i.p address--->then it finds the address we're looking for
-the reason for dns is because a)its hard for people to remember i.p adddresses so instead we use letters and words b) convience i,p addresses get changed constantly but the domain name is constant

anything else i need to know?
I've researched a bit but its a bit confusing maybe I'm overthinking
