Well I've run into this problem myself on a friends 360 I modded. If you update to the new kinect dash then no more backups for you and also xbox live ban. I told him not to play on live but no people refuse to listen. Ohh well just a heads up yall.

My computer. I only at this time mod dvd drives buy flashing the fw. I have 2 botched jtag attempts so yeah. Fried the rom chip on one and on the other blew a fuse. Yay parts.
If you're looking for a mod to play games off harddrive you should look into the cygnos360 chip. It has to be pre 8xxx series kernel for the dash. I got lucky on 2 360 I was given and tried to jtag them but yeah.

i have a jtag system, but i want to learn how to flash dvd - drives tutorials seem complicated where did you learn rattmansam

Trial and error. I wont flash anything new new ex. the liteon. Too many tools needed and I'm not willing to make my own tools. |

Just look up the tutorials and all that. I didn't get it right the first time. I bricked 2 drives. I ave since unbricked them though. |

Hmm I would say maybe xb scene or look up the specific drive you want to flash on youtube. One thing you will want is autoxbins. You can find it in a few places. |

Update!!
Ok so the hitachi gdr3120l 47, 48 and 59 don't support the ap2.5 check so Guess what I'm using. Xbox live baby!!!

The problem is though my 360 retailed with a 79 so that might throw a flag but it's been about a week of playing everyday and no flags. And about posting tutorials lol I would if I had the time. Between work and cars and phones and 360's I don't really have time. I don't make s**t from fixing 360's or phones or cars just like $50 a week max. This town is hella cheap lol. Everyone wants everything for maybe 25% labor costs. I buy a $20 part I only charge $5 labor to install or is I'm fixing a 360 from redring I charge 50%. I don't flash 360's for the fact I could get in trouble. I only fix them. I have sold several that were flashed but before I gave them to the persons I reverted to a stock firmware. |
