Wii system menu

Is there a way to update wii system menu offline? I heard i can download wii system menu wads from nus. Not sure if it would be safe though.

Any place where I could download the .wad files

Also if I'm on system menu 3.1 can i download straight to 4.1?

I would just stay on 3.1 unless you want to use Netflix but 3.1U still work for my Wii with my games.

thanks snipes but i was just wondering if it would work
if i have the homebrew channel installed could i update it offline getting the was file from nus would it take away the mod if i do?
