What are the best DVDrs for backups?

I have read thread after thread, and everything says different things.

Most say to use DVD-r, but I have had good success with DVD+R.

Any Comments?

I would just try different types until you find one that suits you best. I personally use Memorex DVD-R for everything. It hasn't failed me yet. I also burn all my disks at full speed (16x) even though people tell you not to. And again, 100% success rate.

well my cheapo maxwell +r's work fine. I burn at 4 times, because that is as fast as my burner burns them.

for my backups i use memorex dvd-+rw yes it has both -+ i dont know why but they were 70$ for 50 of them and i cant get a bad burn because they are dvd-rw and i burn at 1x usually. never ever had one bad burn unless the files were bad or the disc was irreparable.

Those are dvd+r's, I use minus R's. And 50 is half of 100, just as 11 is half of 22, which is less than 17...
