Actually the vibration has never been an issue, but that pic is actually about 3 months old. Only one I had handy.  Sad

The issue with that xbox was that the color stopped working. My audio guy told me that the magnets could have possible mess up the color.
But when I moved that xbox to the tv in the house, the color was there, but wont work in the car.
So, I bought another box, and and put it in the car to make sure it wasnt the lcd. The new one works fine.
So my next step will be to put the clear case on the good xbox, and I won't be putting the xbox on the speakers anymore.

The controller plugged in that you see in the pic is actually soldered to the board of an RF wireless controller, and the cable is run under the back seat, and under the carpet, to under the front seat.

The RF unit is supposed to be plugged in directly to the xbox, but had to be extended the inside the car for better signal.

The white wire is the power wire. (unconnected in the picture), it connected to another wire that is run to
a switch under the steering wheel.

I used a power inverter only because it was cheap and handy. I would really like to convert the power to run off of 12 volt. Future thoughts.....

Also I have an IR in the front dash run to the trunk. I just need to have it soldered into the box.
Im thinkin I will have to remove the eye from the board in the Factory xbox IR, an solder the extended one to it. Again Future thoughts.....

By the way, I am not the best at soldering.
Better with software.

Here are some more pics of my g35 custom xbox install.

This is a pic of the parking brake bypass. It is useless now since it is bypassed when the car starts.

This is the power switch for the xbox. I is ran underneath the carpet, from the trunk, and then mounted in the plastic dash piece under the drivers side.

The xbox is plugged into a female/female plug that is then plugged into an extension, ran through the trunk, under the back seat and carpet, and exits the carpet where you you see it in the pic. I decided to make it exit the carpet here just in case I ever needed to plug any other device in the front.

The other cable with the memory card is the extension of the RF adapter for the wireless controller.
Normally the piece you see plugs directly into the xbox. I cut the controller off of a controller, and soldered the cable to the RF plug to extended it as well under the carpet and back seat to the trunk.

In action.

I'll post a vid if there is any more interest.

hey you can put a power and or reset switch on the controller itself (or remote if youre into that sorta thing Smiley) using this awesome guide made by our native Irish bumm, Yachi

he hadnt been around for a while, but boy got some serious solder skills, its worth a look to anyone even as inspiration for something else!!

I have made one for the wired controller, but not with the RF controller.
Right now xbox in car project is somewhat on back burner.

The I hope to acomplish in the near future would be,
1. Wifi access to hard drive on remote pc.
2. New mounting location of xbox. I will eventually discard the DVD drive, as I dont ever use it.
3. Fix the IR eye in the dash.
4. Hard wire the RF Controller
5. convert the power to run off of 12 volt.
6. And something else.  Grin

Thanks for the ideas though. They are appreciated.

I thought the same thing about the steering wheel. Imagine after the wreck, him having an imprint of buttons in his forehead. Grin
