Well, I want to build a custom PC (finally). But, I need some help. I got the DVD drives and hard drives taken care of. I want to know if I should buy a quad core CPU and a mobo together, or separate? And What would be the best buy in those? I want a good (but cheap) mobo. And should I splurge for the Q9650, or get the Q6700? If I was to liquid cool everything, should I get a full tower case or a mid tower? What should my PSU wattage be? 600W? And for liquid cooling, does this link solve all my cooling problems (will it make it so I don't need any heatsinks, fans...)?
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3829140&CatId=499
Finally, what more do I need than these things?
1. Case
2. PSU (power supply)
3. Motherboard
4. CPU
5. Hard drive
6. Optical drive
7. RAM (memory)
8. Video Card
9. Liquid cooling kit (mentioned above)

Remember, everything doesn't come with certain things, like assume that the CPU doesn't come with a heatsink and fan ect...

I would really Go for a Core i7 Computer  I mean that's really the Only way to Go if you Want the PC to last for the Next few Years.

you'll Need a Motherboard that Supports Core i7 and DDR 3 Ram

both us about the Same Price as if you got Just a Core 2 Motherboard and DDR2 ram

and a Core i7 940 is very cheap and  faster then a Q6700 Extreme.

So it would be cheaper to get a Core i7 and mobo than a Quad core and mobo? DDR3 RAM is hell expensive though, right? And what about everything else?

you cant find a motherboard with the i7 processor and not ddr3 ram
ddr3 is NOT that expensive
and since i7 has the EMT64 (AMD 64 bit tech contracted to intel) the 4gb RAM limit doesnt apply

Well, for about 500 bucks, i can built a pretty nice quad core (q6600) with 8 GB (DDR2 PC6400) RAM, so that's pretty god. I'm not by any means rich Cheesy

What would you guys recommend be a power supply? Should I just get a 450 watt?

depends on what graphics card you wanna use, for that system, i would say with using intergrated graphics, 500watt just to be safe. but with say like a nvidia 9 or 8 series, i would suggest 600+ watt psu. psu is one part you do not want to skimp out on.

With any new graphics card nvidia gen 8 and up i recommend a 650-700 watt psu for a single card and 1- 1.25kw psu for multi card arrays. I wish with the i7 you didnt have to go ddr3 cause there is no true performance increase but yeah go i7 or core 2 quad.

Well, the mobo only has 2 DDR slots. Here's my list:

Motherboard: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3038920&CatId=1533
CPU: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2905631&CatId=2758
(I have a great CPU cooler on my current PC< so I'd use that)
I'd use that thermal gel
Id use that PSU as well
Video Card: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3570089&CatId=1558
8 Gigs RAM: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3404049&Sku=O261-8038
Case and the PSU I was going to use: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2549294&Sku=TC3J-4040%20P
Case Fans: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4312790&CatId=494

I think that's about it.

umm you cant use that video card because it's PCI express 2.0 and that mobo doesn't support 2.0.  umm but other than that pretty good list.

You also have to watch out when getting big ram sticks. some motherboards support up to 8gb but you cant use 2 4gb sticks because the slots have a limit of say 2gb per slot, so you have to use 4 2gb sticks. mine for instance has a limit of 1gb per slot, but i can have up to 4gb of ram but i need to use a  4 slots to do that.
