I just made a hard drive with hdm. Problem is that when the drive booted up it went to the original MS dash.
Tried the KI 007  Soft mod, and instead of crashing and loading the installer, it just stayed on the black screen.

I quickly hit the eject button. I didnt want to turn off the hard drive, i was afraid i might brick the drive.

Any ideas??

Once you make a New Softmod you and if you copyed over your softmod  C and E you Need to Delete the Game save and transfer a NEW save to the Xbox then Softmod again.

( krazies installer sets shadowC and when you copyed over the C and E you copyed over the MS C (aka) shadowC  and NOT the softmod C )

That makes sense I copied over the wrong C drive.
Confused about what you said about the game save. Do I need to remove the 007 save, put it back on, and then try to soft mod again??

Or do I have to put the original HD back in and start over.
If so, which is the right way to copythe C Drive?

you just delete the save thats on the New HDD right now then Just do the Hold Softmod over again from the start,  (AKA) copy over save from PC to memoryCard then to Xbox and Softmod.

Just think of the New HDD as a New Un-mod xbox you Just got =)
(just got to delete the Bad save thats on it frist)

the "save" is a hacked save that boots to linux
it just appears curropt considering its not an actual save

when you load up the save and install the Softmod  it changes the Save as well.

thats why you copy it to the HDD and not Run the softmod from the Memorycard it's self

when you load up the save and install the Softmod  it changes the Save as well.

this is only natural considering it is basically an OS, at the very least an APP designed to run a virtual OS, meaning files inside the save\OS are going to change just like they do everytime you boot your PC
