Ok I got a sata convertor. Did everything for making a new hard drive for the xbox. Now the xbox is not seeing the drive. telling me it needs service. Any idea what I did wrong?

and what converter did you get?

the error code could tell us alot about  your problem

that is HDD timeout i think
which means your drive is not unlocking, or isnt locked to begin with
do you have the EEPROM and have you locked the drive with XboxHDM?

I ran the program and it locked the drive. at less it said it locked it. I can try unlocking and locking it again.

yeah try doing that, make sure it is locked correctly with the right EEPROM

PS dont you have a chipped xbox? i cant remeber

nope not chipped. I know I have the right eeprom but I will double check that first.

OK unlocked it and relocked. Now I get error 16 after removing the jumper

error 16 is dash, you need to reinstall it with an appropriate dashboard, idk how you had the disc setup but something is wrong with the files

and put the jumper back in lol

OK let see if I have this straight. Because the dash has a problem then when the jumper is on it will time out. Ok I'll try reloading everything again. I'll try following the TUT.

i was trying NOT to crush the guys spirit MAN

and one more thing, when you boot XboxHDM, are you using the converter then? or do you have it hooked up SATA?
