Have you ever wandered what Untitled1.psd was and didn't feel like letting Photoshop/ImageReady boot up just to see? So then you decide just to delete it and later you figure out that you needed it. Well if you do then I have found the patch for you. It is a registry edit that allows Windows shell to cache the thumbnail of .psd and other Photoshop formats. Here is the step by step tutorial:
1. Download the following file.
http://drfweega.smdepot.net/~private/files/photoshop_thumbnail_regedit.rar
2. Unrar the files into C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Shell
[If C:\ isn't where your program files is located then read step 2b & 2c ]Only do these two steps if your Program Files directory is not located on C:\. Otherwise skip to step 3 >
2b. Right click on your aiicon.dll.reg and hit Edit. Then you will see the following:
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{0C5B0CED-206B-4c39-B615-0EB23C824612}\InProcServer32]
@="C:\\Program Files\\Common Files\\Adobe\\Shell\\AIIcon.dll"
You need to change the C:\ to whatever drive contains your Program Files folder.

2c. Right click on your psicon.dll.reg and hit Edit. Then you will see the following:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\SharedDLLs]
"C:\\Program Files\\Common Files\\Adobe\\Shell\\psicon.dll"=dword:00000001
** and if you scroll down **
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{0B6DC6EE-C4FD-11d1-819A-00C04FB69B4D}\InProcServer32]
@="C:\\Program Files\\Common Files\\Adobe\\Shell\\psicon.dll"
You need to change the C:\ to whatever drive contains your Program Files folder.
3. Run aiicon.dll.reg & hit yes then run psicon.dll.reg and hit yes
4. Go to a directory with a .psd or other Photoshop file format and see if you can see a thumbnail.
