PSP is screwed up

Okay, I just recently got a PSP. It mostly works. Other than the fact that every time you go into text entry it starts to flicker and go crazy and I can't access the web browser. Also, the USB connection won't work. Any suggestions?

does it have a custom firmware?

if you have standard firmware, upgrade to a higher standard   i think that is just a firmware issue... but if you have custom OE or the 3.51 then downgrade to 2.71 (using the boot up holding R method)  and try upgrading again

i think its a custom firmware, because sometimes when you flash the usb mod so you can play games that are on your pc, sometimes i have problems with it even connecting to the pc in usb mode in the xmb.

it has regular 3.51 firmware. And I wouldn't be able to downgrade cause I can't connect via USB.

you cant upgrade if you have wifi or have access to wifi somewhere, it can d/l it straight form the internet.

ummm, you dont use the web browser..., you go to upste in the settings, and click via internet
