Ok, im gonna show you how to get gentoox on your xbox with minimal effort.

First off, download this

Then Unrar it. If you dont have winrar click here

Now, you have the GentooX rar and winrar on your pc, unrar it.
Just drag the rar onto the program and you shud see some folders.
Highlight the folders and click extract at he top of the program.
Now just wait for it to finish(might take a while).

Now its time to FTP, if you dont know how to ftp by now read this

Ok, your logged in and ready to go.

Click on your E:/ drive and go into it.
Now copy everything from the E folder you just extracted into that drive

NOTE: Make sure your not moving the folder but the files inside the folder

If linuxboot.cfg already exists : then open the one you extraced and the one in the E drive,
just copy paste everything from your new one into it.

When you have that done do the same with your F folder and put it into the F:/ drive

NOTE: If you are trying to use the stock hard drive gentoox will not fit, make a bigger hard drive.

Now you officialy have linux on your xbox!

You can just run gentoox.xbe from the root of your E:/ drive or create a shortcut to do it for you

For UnleashX add this to the config.xml in its folder under <Menu>
Code:
<Item Action="E:\gentoox.xbe">Linux</Item>

For EvolutionX add this to the evox.ini
Code:
Item "Gentoox","E:gentooxx.xbe"

Then reset your xbox.

When you see that Linux is on your dash go here and hit donate(give as much as possible)

If you dont do the last step then your linux will not run properly, you wont get the hang of it, you will get a wedgie every time you sit down and you will burn in hell after dieing a horrible death.

Good tut, other than the donate thing (See the who am i section), so does that apply to me? LOL. Might try it once I get another Xbox, or do it to someone else's.

Pro is for the professional linuxers, no gui (no windows-all comand line).

My one is the newest home version and its much smaller and more organised.

If you download the gentoox from the site then you will have to unrar and uniso a few things.

This is rared once for simplicity.

If you go to the Gentoox site and look at the tutorials section they tell you how to cut down the install from 5 gigs to 2 gigs for the stock hdd..

Ive gotten Gentoox to fit on a stock HDD...You just have to delete HELLA lots of saves...and delete all soundtracks you have ripped to the xbox...and then move all apps and what not to F:...You should wind up with about 4.7 gigs....Gentoox only needs 4.5
