i wouldn't really know that and i've never heard of that, but wouldn't it be easier if you just put the files on the xbox or i could be that your running out of space on your xbox right?

Yup i hear you, all my vidz had to be renamed cause for some reason the xbox cant take more the one period in a file ex. SDFD.JEkd.mpg i has to be stright SDFD-JEkd.mpg

Hummm, but for you question on how to play those files it has to do something with the Samba share on your menu in videos section i believe

go to  Workgroup(smb) on Xbox edit source Add

SMD://MSHOME//"yourpc'sName"//"what folder your sharing"

withOut the " "

In videos you Can Just Make a New Source  and do the Same thing  Name the title like MY LINKed VIDEOS  or whatever

All I did to get my Xbox to recognize my PC was I went into Network Places and did Setup Home Network, named the connection: Home, and turned on File/Printer sharing then I rebooted the PC. Then from inside of XBMC there is an option to tell it what network to be apart of and I typed in Home and rebooted the Xbox. BAM! There were all my files after I clicked Workgroup from either inside the Videos folder, Music, or Pictures.

Just make sure that you have files inside of your Music/Pics/Vids folder or you make the folders themselves shared by right click > properties > shared.

What I did was delete all the sources in music, videos & pictures and just added my own sources ex. my videos are "smb://HOMEPC//My Crap//Videos/" and the source is named ">>[Videos]<<"  is it becos of something I did there that its acting weird?
