hey everyone, ive been faced with a dilemma. i changed my desktop image to one im quite satisfied with and im working on a cool theme. but im an idiot. thats the major problem. u see i cant figure out how to remove the BLUE from behind the text and the icons on my desktop. here ill show u what i mean.

DESKTOP:


if u look at the icons and the texts they all have blue shadows, how do i get rid of that and make it transparent? thanks for anyone who can offer any advice.

right click on desktop>properties
- Appearance Tab> Advanced 
(in Items menu) pick selceted Items Off to the side you'll see Color 1 
change that to what you want =)

thanks a bunch man, this really helps a lot. one question tho, cant i make the shadow transparent? i mean i can change it from blue (now its grey), but i cant make it go away. cus like i changed the color like it says here with DESKTOP under the ITEM menu:



but it forces me to choose a color. again i was wondering if i could make it transparent anyhow. thanks again zzk.

start-contorl panel-advanced-performance settings-visual effects-click the boox near the end that sez 'use drop shadows for icon labels on desktop' then apply
