I have a stock hard drive (10gb) and i have xbmc installed. when i ftp to my xbox i have a H drive that has files like shadowc.img, xb0xdash.xbe ........... what partition is this, i never used to have this when i had unleashx installed. Not a very important question just curious.

dude if it has an fing shadowc.img then it is an extra partition for the saftey of your xbox DO NOT MESS WITH IT FOR IT MAY CAUSE YOUR XBOX TO BRICK!!!!!!

ha ya i figured that, i wasnt planning on freeing up some hd space by deleting, lol. I softmodded using krayzies ndure installer, its just that the partition never showed up before in smartftp. I was wondering if maybe the partition became unhidden or something

On my xbox I have a c,d,e,f then i have a H and Q. the Q is a backup of the xmc dash when its running and the H has the follwoing files in it:
folders:audio, doolboot, filler, fonts, media, nkpatcher, rescuedash, xb0xdashdata.185ead00, xodash
Files:eeprom.bin, shadowc.img, xb0xdash.xbe, xboxdash.xbe
Its freaking me out that i can even see this partition through ftp. I never use to be able to see it but now i can. any ideas about this? and i dont have any sort of memory card inserted. Hmm seems this hidden partition only appears when i ftp with xbmc as my dash. when i use unleashx as my dash is doesnt show up. seems like this drive is hidden under xbmc.

really i don't know What to say =/ i have never seen a H drive unless a memcard or USB drive has been connected to the Xbox
i have XBMC as my Main Dash as well and know of the Q drive But Never have i seen a H drive without a memcard or USB connected =/
I am sure it's Not a Big thing just don't delete it and all is well =)

Yeah, I'm with Zzk, I've not seen the H drive without some kind of attached device, but I'm sure its not a big deal. Odd though  |

ok i got it, for anyone interested the hidden partition only appears with the latest tech release of xbmc (2007-3-18). I reverted back to the release before that (207-3-12) and now it is hidden like it should be, no more H drive. I also had a problem when i would launch an app or emulator with a game disc in the dvd drive. My xbox would always start up the game instead of the app i selected, but again after reverting back to the previous tech release of xbmc that problem has gone away.

well i have unleash and all the drives show up in flashfxp. and nothing attached. while were on the subject what drives are my main concern? i have stock hdd.

Main Drives on a Stock Xbox are C: and E:
D: is Disk Drive
X,Y,Z are Chech drives
For Bigger HDDs you'll have
C: E: F: and for BIG HDDs G:
C: is your MS Dash Drive
E: is your Save game drive But in the World Of Softmod it's Much More =)
