Lots of PSP modding questions...

Hey, I'm kinda new to the whole modding thing.  How would I go about being able to get emulators, icon sets and such on my PSP?  Would I need a modchip?  Any help is GREATLY appreciated!  Thanks!

nope u dont need a modchip u need a psp with version 3.03 and lower u need GTA Liberty Citys stories Unpatched the 2.00 version get it at blockbuster you will need a memory stick of atleast 128 and you could downgrade ur psp and then get Emus PSX games and have the lastest 3.10 Custom Update

how is that english not understandable anywhyz a modchip is very diffrent then a regular mod because the modchip lets you fix bricked psp and it will let u have an extra Main flash so you have the regular psp chip and then another flash for the modchip

Frist to understand PSP hacking you must understand that you can't hack it unless you have a PSP frimware version 1.50 or 1.00 but everyone uses 1.50.
A modchip makes it so that you can put a Custom frimware without haveing to have a v1.50.

OK now that we understand what we Need  Here is What you can Do
Frist if you have psp version 2.00-3.03 you can downgrade the PSP to a 1.50
-2.00 Does Not need GTA UMD (Unpatched)
-2.71 Does Not Need GTA UMD (Unpatched)
-3.03 DOES Need GTA UMD (Unpatched)
Get the Easy Downgraders here (Full)

I think the 2.80 DownGrader Does Not Need a GTA UMD But i Have Not Tested it 
there is a 2.50/2.60  downgrader But you need GTA UMD  and seeing that theres a 2.71 downgrader that does not need the GTA UMD then there really is no Need for the 2.50/2.60 downgrader.

Ok now the FUN part  the TA-079 and TA-086

if you have a TA-079 or TA-086  i know you can downgrade from 2.80 to 2.71 But i am not Sure if you can go anylower then that (i don't Know)
I think with a TA-079 or TA-086 your more or Less "s**t Out OF Luck" (for Now)
(Do Not Try and Use a Downgrader on the TA-079 or TA-086 Unless it tells you that you Can)
