Ok, so here's what I want in my Xbox.
Stored games
More gigs(100gigs or more)
Dashboards(MC360, XBMC, UnleashX, EvoX, Avalaunch...etc)
Emulators(all)
Apps(DVD2Xbox...etc)
Be able to watch DVD
Be able to play music
Be able to copy/store DVDs to HD, same with music
TRAINERS!!!(especialy for Halo, Halo2...)
Xlink Kai or XBconnect
Now, out of all these features...what can a soft modded have, and what can a hardmodded have?
I've sent my Xbox to my friend to soft mod it.
He said he could change the drive, to give me more space
He could make the loading faster
He could put games in the HDD

all that stuf can be done on both hard and softmod
Stored games- xbmc, evox, UX, ava, can all launch games form hd
More gigs(100gigs or more)-install new hd
Dashboards(MC360, XBMC, UnleashX, EvoX, Avalaunch...etc)-smd auto installer
Emulators(all)-smd auto installer(still need roms)
Apps(DVD2Xbox...etc)-amd auto installer
Be able to watch DVD-xbmc
Be able to play music-xbmc, ux
Be able to copy/store DVDs to HD, same with music, dvd 2 xbox, or use a avi creator on the pc then ftp videos to xbox
TRAINERS!!!(especialy for Halo, Halo2...) xbmc, evox, xored trainer launcher (note, halo 2 v1.1 and 1.2 trainers do not work)
Xlink Kai or XBconnect- both except modded xboxs, but watch out for using trainers on either, you can still get banned.

Is it like the nDure Auto Installer for the hacked saves?

no, its for after you have softmodded, or hardmodded, its a simple installer to put all kinds of apps and stuff on your xbox

In order to have a hard drive in your xbox, it has to be locked and match the lock key on your xbox. So if you upgrade your xbox HD to say 120 gigs or something, you'll have to make sure its locked properly with the right key otherwise the xbox will reject it and refuse to boot up. Its Microsofts way of preventing most people from upgrading their xbox / hacking it.
