ZZk2001:

Since youtube went crazy, are you gonna remake any of the XBOX vidz?
If not, I'll make some.
I didn't want to post any without your say so, since obiviously I got most of the  the ideas from you.

Let me know.

I agree Zzk2001.

Vidz are very straight forward.

I agree. Macs suck for everthing except photoshop.
I don't own a mac, but at the college I go to, the digital photo lab uses macs, and I have to say photoshop works pretty good on it.

Has anybody used XBMC on mac?

A mini mac would make a good media center, if XBMC worked well on it.

The only drawback I could imagine would be that there would be no xbox games.

I think it is awesome that more people are learning to mod.
When I started there was a very small following of people that did console mods, and most were jerks when you asked for help.

If anything this shows that more traffic is coming to smdepot for help.

Yes. I agree that some questions can be pretty dumb, but I'm pretty sure that I have asked some dumb questions over time.

I've been using RC7 since tuesday, and I am impressed.
The only thing extra I had to do after setup was install the video driver.

Everything from initial boot to shut down is fast. Menus that were annoying, such as sidebar, and UAC are toned down. And extra features like the new task bar are nice.

Good OS, so far. I think it has a Linux feel to it.

sounds good man. I'll give that a try. Really, thats the only game I have had issues with, and to be honest, that game bytes anyway.

Thanks for the info though. Always appreciated.

You can notice the read speed issues when playing mario galaxy.
The video is very choppy.
In the beginning sequence it will actually freeze the game up. There is a game save to bypass this, but the choppy video is enough to keep me from playing it.
Gets annoying.

zzk2001:

first ,Thanks for posting the new vid of SoftMii.

I'm curious about the new version of SoftMii.

A couple of months ago you made some good points about the riskiness of the installation.

Is the support for backups the same, as compared to WiiGator?
Have the errors been corrected that you found in the Alpha?

Basically, you didn't recommend  it at first.
Do you still feel the same way about it?
Or would you say it is a bit safer now.

Too bad. Cry
Hopefully this will be an advantage to the wii modding community.
The fact that now you can use SDHC cards might lead to bigger applications being developed for the Wii, on the homebrew front.

If the Wii could be modded after the update, maybe an SDHC card could be used to run an application similar to XBMC.

Think positive.
This might be a good thing..

Just a head up. I was checking the site on a mac this morning, and the home page was all jacked up. I'm using safari.
Normally I don't use a mac, but i'm in the mac lab at my university, and noticed the home page is all screwed up.
I have checked on several different macs here, and the same thing happens.

The forums are fine though.

Just wanted to give a heads up.
