A .bin is a CD image. Nero, Alcohol 120%, or pretty much any burning software should be able to handle it. If it can't open the .bin directly, create a .cue file for it. Just pop open notepad and paste:
FILE "filetoopen.bin" BINARY TRACK 01 MODE1/2352 INDEX 01 00:00:00
Where you change filetoopen.bin to the name of the .bin file you wish to open. Then just save that file in the same directory as your .bin file as filetoopen.cue (again changing filetoopen). Then just open that .cue file in the burning software and it'll work. You can either burn that image to a cd, or mount it using a virtual drive.
P.S. - I know I say this a lot, but google is your friend. Next time you get a file you are unsure how to open, google will know how.

Xbox / Questions / Re: Installing media center on a chipped xbox

A quick look into how a softmod works, will let you know that the bios is actually patched (look up nkpatcher for specifics). But back to the question at hand. It will depend on the amount of flash memory on the chip for which bios to use. Id use the X2 bios (512k i think) if itll fit. Its got a config file you can leave on the hdd and just edit that when you need to change what boots first and other bios config stuff, instead of having to reflash the chip everytime you want to make a change to the bios.

Softmods and modchips do the same thing, they just have different methods of doing it. Softmods patch or replace the microsoft bios that is loaded by software means, and modchips totally bypass the bios and load their own by hardware means. Whoever flashed the bios on the aladdin chip probably didnt edit the bios he put on it first. Check out http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=345835 on how to reflash it. Most likely you can just use an evox cd to reflash it. You will first need to figure out which aladdin chip it is, and then we can tell you which bios is best to use. Basically you edit the bios to tell it what program to load first, which you can set to xbmc, currently it loads a hacked bios but still goes to the msdash.

Also continuous use of the controller can lead to Cumulative Trauma Disorders, such as trigger finger or others. CTD's are bad news and many people have habits that lead to them and they don't even realize it (why many people have carpal tunnel syndrome)

umm actually you are wrong... its software you download....and a modchip aint gonna help a thing if its a locked hdd and the password is unknown. The only reason a modchip was suggested was if the hdd was just unlocked. Softmods cant boot unlocked hdds, modchips can.
