thanks. i tried using the translator, but i cant get past the login page. i put in my login info and it just sits, whereas on the original page i make progress. but its useless to login into the original page bc i cant get around...

on a side note, im on Blip.tv trying to play a file, and im selecting the option to view the original .avi file. when i click to play, i get the Firefox notice that im missing plugins. when i click find missing plugin, it tells me this...

does anyone know where i can find and install the correct plugin? i googled it but no avail. thanks.

so i remove my "bad" videos from youtube and in an effort to post them somewhere, i remembered a site... Todou.com which i recalled was used a lot on sidereel.com to post videos of similar nature to mine. so i signed up. however the site is in Chinese, and i figured, i might as well spend some time finding an English site which offered the same thing, than spend so much time trying to navigate the site. god bless tinypic.com. anyways, back to navigation... now that i have a site that i can use to do my evil with, i no longer need Todou.com. so i want to unsubscribe from it, frankly because i didn't see the need to belong to a site which i don't want or plan to use. however, the whole bit about the site being in Chinese really messes with me, because i have to babelfish every word, and try as i might, i just can't seem to make any progress. so i humbly request.... would anyone happen to know how i can unsubscribe (unregister) from Todou.com? thanks.

hey everyone, this is the first time ive tried to play video, more specifically AVI video, on my laptop. what's happening is that the video plays fine and syncs with the audio great, but the audio sounds like chipmunks. i really dont know what to do. im guessing that there might be a decoder problem, but im not sure. so i dled and installed K-Lite codec pack 3.9.5. same problem. any ideas would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

hey guys, im a big youtube guy and frankly i post some stuff that may arouse concern about copyrights. i recently got this email.

anyways, it tells me that Carsey Werner, aka the CW, which was formerly known as KTLA, a Californian programming channel has used some video identification and found that one of my posts matched a show they aired. im just gonna say it, its true. i got a request to post some "Grounded for Life" episodes so i went ahead with it. it turns out that such acts are considered big no-no's. anyways the email i got was kind of confusing, i dont understand what its saying. it says that the video is blocked, but i can still see it. and then it goes on to say that its allowed, so uhhh, what? it did say something about advertisements. what i gathered is that they would allow the video to stay on youtube as long as they could run their ads on the same page and keep track of the views and comments. well i think thats what it says. anyways just wondering what i would do from my current position. do i need to contact CW, because youtube is apparently only the messenger in this whole bit. they refuse to get involved in any way due to legal issues. i guess i can understand, but im still in the dust. how can i tell CW that they can put ads on the page as long as they allow the video to be shown? what do i need to do, or does no action have to be taken? can i  continue posting more episodes of this show without worrying that i'll get into any legal trouble? thanks.

put duct tape over it, call it a case mod.
40  Computer / General Discussion / Re: Multiple Firefoxes on: June 18, 2008, 05:25:50 PM
i haven't tried this but maybe you could install each Firefox with a slightly different name. example the first Firefox would be installed as "Mozilla Firefox 1" and the second "Mozilla Firefox 2"... you know what i mean.

if that doesn't work, try to install one Firefox then go to the programs folder where it is installed and temporarily move the whole installed folder to another location on your computer (not a Program Files location). then install the second Firefox, and move it somewhere else as well. do this for all 8 installed Firefox's (remember to rename each installation folder) then at the end move the installation folders for each Firefox back into the Program Files folder and create separate shortcuts for each of the 8 firefox.exe files.

good luck
41  Computer / General Discussion / Re: Mic Check... on: June 14, 2008, 08:32:25 PM
great, im using one mic and its corresponding receiver and its working i just tried it with sound player, but i dont know how to configure my computer so that i can hear what im saying in real time. i tried volume control and set all the microphone levels to full volume but im still not getting it. any ideas?

EDIT
i got ASIO4all and along with Krystal i got one mic working. im never getting a USB mic ever again. but anyways. we ended up not using the wireless headsets for the play. we used standard wired ones hooked up to the speakers. i figured dont mess with it if it aint broke and if the mics have worked for countless performances before, they should work just fine for us. and they did. the show was a hit.

ive got the this kind of wireless headset

Microsoft Lifechat wireless headset

Click for specs

and it comes with a receiver so that i can use it on my pc. since there are going to be many characters on stage, i was thinking of having multiple headsets, but i dont know how to set it up. would i only need one receiver to be plugged in and it will pick up each headset's signal?

i did see this on the xbox website

Click for specs

it says that it can accept 4 wireless headsets and 4 controllers at once.
does it mean that it will only accept the XBOX360 wireless headsets, or will it also accept the Lifechat headset. they look very similar, would they function the same way?

45  Computer / General Discussion / Mic Check... on: June 11, 2008, 12:04:15 AM
hey guys. i had a question regarding the use of a microphone on a PC. im helping to direct a youth theater performance and we need to use microphones so that the performers can be heard. we were hoping to use wireless clip on mics but we cant seems to find anyone who can lend us one on such short notice (we go on next Tuesday). however ive got a wireless PC headset which will work just dandy if i can set it up right. see im thinking that if the performer wears the headset, the signal will be sent to the receiver connected to a laptop (somewhere backstage) and the audio out will be sent to the gym's speaker system. i know how the hardware needs to be set up but i cant seem to find the right software. i need something that plays the sound as the performer is speaking. I tried using Audacity and in the Preferences i selected "Software Playback (Play new track while recording it)". it worked, i could hear myself talk while i was talking. but there was a problem... LAGG!!! it was a very distinct half second lag. something like that just wont work when the performers will be singing. they'll be singing in rhythm but the out put which will be heard will be totally un-synchronized. so i need an app which plays whatever is being said with no lag. i was googling it but i just got lost. i would really appreciate any help. Thanks.
