OK... I am going to show you how to Change the transfer time of them BIG PS3 games in Half by Boosting the transfer up to 25-30mbp/s

First the things you'll need.

1. Crossover cable (if you don't have one This will show you how to make one)

2. PS3 (DUH!!)

3. a 1000mbps Network card

4. Little to NO understanding of networking

OK... How to make a Crossover cable

it's super easy.... take a cat-5 or any Ethernet cable and Cut 1 end off (Best if you have a Ethernet clapping tool)

Once your done with that connect to your PC then to the PS3

Now setup the Connection setting on the PC

1. Go to Control Panel>Network connections
(right click on your Local Area Connection and pick properties)

2. Push configure button

3. click on Adv tab then pick Link speed
Set 1000Mbps/Full Duplex

4. Set Ip settings as follow

Done for PC side.

How to set up PS3

1. Go to network setting on PS3 and do a Manual setup On everything

2. On PS3 set 1000BASE-T FULL-Duplex

3. Set Ip settings as
IP- 192.168.1.2
Subnet Mask - 255.255.255.0
Default gateway - 1.2.3.4
DNS - 1.2.3.4

4.  Finish other PS3 net settings as auto (Do not do the Net test)

5. ALL DONE... Load  Blackb0x FTP program, Load your FTP program on PC and connect to 192.168.1.2

I guess you would need a crossover cable and won't be able to use a cat5 cable?
What do you do once you cut one end of cat5 cable?

Do you need 2 cat5 cables? cut one end of each then connect them?

you take a cat-5 cable "look at it" match the color pins for Side A (they should match)  Now cut off one end and place the wires into a new Head as the picture shows for Side B then clamp down.

If you don't have any heads then cut the cable so you can rewire it by splicing the wires one to the other so that it matches Side B pins.
