So apparently the ps3 has been hacked. It's a usb thumdrive which would allow user to dump games onto their hard drive.

What do you guys think. I heard these sources are realiable.

Yeah, it's 100% real.  I have talked to a lot of people now and seen many videos.

The only thing i hate is the price... I mean COME ON, that's fucking NUTS  but then again back in the day i payed for a NDS Passme + M3 card for around 160$   ::)

But i think i'll wait for this to come down in price before i buy it, Maybe around 30-50$

My friends ps3 does not read anymore discs
Picked option number #3 it said the hard drive was currupt. Tried a game still nothing. Tried option 3 again and again it still said hard drive is corrupt it would go the threw the process and still nothing. Any ideas? Do you think the blu ray drive is gone?

And what happend to your ps3 zzk i thought you sold it?

it could be something simple, Has he tried going into recovery Mode and do a recovery ?


(edit: I Sold it BUT the guy buying it from me was making Payments on it, He stopped making payments on it So i took it back from him)

well thats what i did for him, hold down the power button until the menu comes up and i chose option number 3 still nothing. I put in a disc and I dont think it spins because when i eject it. it does not move

Try option 5.Restore PS3 system  "you will lose All save games and what not BUT it will fix it"

Long as it's not a hardware problem it should, What it does is restores the PS3 back to it's factory Default.

i think it is a hardware problem. I instert a disc wait for a second or two eject it and its in the same position as i put it in. you think that may be a software issue?

Yup'er this lil modchip works on all models of the PS3 system. Purity sweet, but like everyone else not the price. lol  :D

Also, you know dam well theirs going to be a patch for this ASAP on Sony end. And after that the dongle will be useless; unless CFW comes out for the PS3 re-enabling it.

yeah but their saying the dongle boots up before the ps3 firmware. it might be like psp and the pandora battery. they may need to change the motherboard

Unfortunatly, this is probably easily detectable on PSN and you will get banned after a while, not to mention IT DISABLES UPDATES! For me, the typical seasonal online gamer, that is the real sucker punch. Sure, you can do a whole bunch of s**t with your system but can you play with REAL FUCKING FRIENDS? No, you can't thats why an xbox 360 is much better for modding because of its stealth. Sure, theres a small chance that you can still get banned from xbl, but at least the damn hack for xbox doesnt pretty much disable XBL.

Well time will tell if Playstation will ban people As for now they have NOT started doing it yet, Really the hack is able to update just like the 360 hack where they could block PSN from banning some one, Really i say the PS3 hack is better for this as the updates are easier to install and faster plus the fact that with homebrew latter down the line there could be a program that UNBANS you =) as the Psjailbreak is just like a panora's battery and you can easily change the code that PSN banned to get your self unbanned  ;D

And the 360 hacks where the same way when they first started coming out with MANY people getting banned And many people still get banned today on XBL  ::)

The ability to update was removed though with the dongle. As for simplicity of updating, both are about the same, in fact the xbox wont even let you connect to the internet unless you are updated, for time wise xbox wins because it doesn't have such a large os like the PS3 has.

Well i'm just saying it's super new right now, So till we know all the facts and what it can and can not do lets not be to harsh on it  ;D

The device does say that updates will be disabled BUT that does not mean that it blocks you from updating your self as you can easily remove the device OR in a Psjailbreak update it may allow for Firmware updates Or a CFW could be made etc etc. It just has to many "What if's" right-now to just shoot it down and crap.

True, all we can do is see what his mod chip brings to the table. But right now its Sony's move. ;D

haha, sorry dont want to shoot it down,  but that whole update thing bums me out, sony is probably going to roll an update to patch it, unless this is like pandora, which would be awesome.

i think it is like pandoras battery. because the usb stick boots before the ps3 os. so they may need to change the motherboard which will not allow it to boot
so i dont think updates will effect the ps3s

Even so there are other places still taking orders and as of yet No Court Orders have been placed out for the other sites (around the world)

And if PSP can emulate this, it would definitively be a heck of a better alternative, at least for 160 I get an update able hand held console and not some USB dongle ;D

Zzk do you think people would be able to make these on their own soon? just by using a usb stick. it says its compatible with all games well what about the games that have file sizes bigger than 4gb since it only can dump using fat32 partition

Here's what i know of right now.


1. the device has been dumped and right now there are files out there for you to turn a dongle into a Psjailbreack, Cost can run anywhere from 20$-80$

2. people are working on a Emulated version of a dongle on the PSP BUT... this may take a long time OR Not lol

3. PSjailbreak  said that with Manager updates they will support  NTSF so you will not need to worry about file sizes bigger then 4gigs, A side note is that the PS3's HDD it's self CAN support files bigger then 4gigs as it's not a Fat32 format.

4. A simple USB stick will NEVER work, You need a dongle.

What the dongle and files together does is emulates a USB HUB and has commands set on each HUB to bypass the PS3 into getting into Debug mode  able to run Unsigned code.

People are working on a Emulated way of using the PSP as the PS3jailbreak Right now they are trying with Cwcheat as it supports Hex (Good Idea  :P)  And going to reedit remote Joy to connect as the Type B device  (again a very good idea)

If he is successful  For all the CFW PSP users out there this will be the first 100% FREE PS3 hack =)

Umm... I don't know  :P  My guess would be yes. But that's not to hard, You'll just need to plug in the PSP so it does not turn off from the battery dieing  ;)

Well i am sure you all know about PSPGrove by now... NO =P well some people are codding to make a emulated Psjailbreak for the PSP and they are getting close But having problems with the PS3 finding the remotejoy BUT i think they are using the wrong program, As they should be using Hostcore, i have tried Hostcore myself on the PS3 and you get a error saying Unknown device (That could be a GOOD thing)

would you need to mod the actual board (hardware mod) and then put the software on it
it makes no sense the boards cost around $30 and the clones might be the same price

I personally know the guy who is making the TI-84 port of the PS3Groove dongle, he says he is getting real close to being able to port it.

Is it really so easy to make a cloned Jailbreak? I doubt. Those guys spent such a long to time to figure it out. I believe it will work I trust the original developer only coz' I don’t want my PS3 hurt. Does anyone know gadget-asia? I got an email from them that they are the authorized seller of PS3 Jailbreak. Well after 2weeks now still no PS jailbreak port for PSP  :( Why does every piece of s**t get a port But not the PSP ? I mean you would think that getting a Ps Jailbreak port onto the PSP would be on the top of the list (WTF!!! devs?) ::)

Anyways i can't really get to made Cuz i know i can't code worth s**t LOL but i really do want a port soooooooo bad  ;D

There is a PSP port in the works by someone But as of right now he has only coded it to act like a USB HUB, now he just has to set the Psjailbreak code to it and DONE....  ;D Soooo i am hoping within this week he will be done... :-\

I don't have a dongle  or even a Psjailbreak device yet (Sadly) But i am waiting on the PSP port  ;D I came close to getting a TI-84 BUT... turned out it was just a TI-83 (Yeah i was pissed) lol

As for the size of the games, Because many games are cross platform they are very small Some even only 3gigs but most are around 4.7gigs up to 9gigs  the only games i have that are "BIG" is God Of War 3  That thing was fucking 40gigs!!!! lol and that only took about 9-12 hours to download.

And NO i am not getting any of the games from ps3iso, I never even heard of them till you posted about them, I been getting my games from Ilovetorrents.com (I get Max speed off them 1.7mbps)
GOW3 was a little slow going from about 900kbps down to 500kbps from time to time.

once i do get a device or PSP gets ported I'll have A LOT of videos up  ;D

One of the people making the PSP port said that it's to hard if not Imposable to make.... I can't really believe that but whatever... I just hope someone better at coding picks up the PSjailbreak to PSP port Soon, I really don't have 40$$+ to get a Board or Clone Jailbreak  :(

Dude sweet I got a iPhone so their no big deal for me. Gonna start looking into getting a PS3 and renting games from Blockbuster like the good old days from Xbox 1. Ahh yes Xbox2DVD good times, good times. Because downloading 40GB is just way to much BW for me to be pulling when I can just rent and at least give a lil to the devs of the game.

I received the original PS Jaiblreak ordered from www.gadget-asia.com. It works very well with my PS3, whose firmware stays as 3.41. I have backed up several favorite games to the HDD. We also received emails from them saying the producers had been working to upgrade the mod chip. It seems to be compatible with 3.42 and 3.5, but I'm worried to try it, so I keep the firmware as 3.41". Hope it will be upgraded soon.

Does this thing still work proper? I'm thinking about getting a ps3 for xmas, probably a used one though so the psbreak will work. my question is, if i dont even really plan on playing games online, should i even be worried? i know where to find the games online, so its just as simple as me downloading the game, and installing the manager so that i can hook up my computer harddrive to it?

Yeah this still works =P  just you need a PS3 with 3.41   Any higher and you can NOT jailbreak, Plus there are MANY ways to jailbreak now from programing a Ti-84 or Ipod,mp3 players etc etc
