Title: Swapping XboX HDD, Need help!!! Post by: kristian on August 02, 2010, 08:08:39 AM I found a really cheap SATA HDD 500 GB, did anyone attempt to use SATA on 1st xbox with the sata to ide convertor??? Is it even possible.

To answer your question. The hard drive must be lockable. To find out if it is. Go to the site below and enter your hard drive model #. Just trying to save some money that is all ;D

Well either way you buy the sata drive + the adapter it may come to the same thing. You might as well buy a bigger Sata drive.
