Title: DVD Menu
Post by: realg123 on January 14, 2009, 10:40:13 AM
Quick question: What is a simple program where I can basically drag and drop my dvd movies and create a a menu, Without having to convert it again using that program.
I use winavi to convert my dvds (fast, easy and does not take up that much space). I want to add menus, but not sure what program to use.
I tried using ulead but takes to much space, and time.

Any help would be great.

i am not 100% sure what you mean.

.avi files don't have menus =)

But if you mean converting .avi to a DVD format with menus then I use ConvertXtoDVD

well you have to create the title menu before you can do anything
several programs do this, Nero is ok at doing this as well

youll want to check out http://www.videohelp.com/ (http://www.videohelp.com/)

use there search features to find what you need (guides as well)

thanks coburn, but what about menus? I use to use ulead dvd factory, but cant find the same version. and tmpegenc wants me to rencode the video before i add a menu. before it would let me go straight through though

i still don't Understand LOL

Menus on a .Avi  I don't think that can be done.

to make menus you need a program to covert it to a DVD format with menus =/

Thus why i said ConvertXtoDVD

(or maybe I am not getting it LOL  :P)

alright well then do you want a complex menu
or are you just looking for a Pick 1 2 or 3 type deal?

and zzk, she doesnt want avi, she wants dvd format, but she needs to MAKE the menu

Alls I do is load up my AVI into Nero Vision, and it asks me what menu I want (its like choose 1, 2, or 3 kinda thing). It's not like pro, but it works for me. Then after I'm done with that, it take a few encoding it, and it gives me a folder called VIDEO_TS and then I burn it to DVD :)

Edit: With Nero Vision, you can pick what style menu you want and everything. I think that's what you asked...

thanks everyone
but as gamerz said
1) i convert the avis into dvd format using winavi
2) after the convertion i would like to add menus to them without the menu program having to rencode the converted videos ( I am not looking for anything fancy just 1,2,3 thing)

LOL, Nero does all that. It adds the menu THEN converts it. It's really a simple program.

guys stop saying what to not use and give more suggestions to find what she wants, winavi is fine

nero is really slow and not as good quality

and the reecode thing has NOTHING to do with winavi zzk, it was the program to make menus that was the problem

1. convertX2DVD does Both

2. I don't care that much

3. I would never understand WHY to use winavi to convert it then Just use a program Again for menus when just use 1 program for both.  ( Size Does not matter when your Just Burnning them to a DVD anyway.)

4. And i think What I came up with was just fine If you don't Like it Then thats Fine, Stop trying to fight On this fourm about Dumb s**t.

I am just saying that If i My answer Is 1 program you don't like then fine But don't come on here saying some BS about (Come on Guys Say somethen better)

no actually these facts ARE facts, when they are my opinions i say "in my opinion"

i personally have never used ConvertX2DVD so i cant say that isnt good, i do this all with command line tools to give me more control

as far as the whole bitrate thing goes, i gave facts, YOU gave your opinions, which is fine you can think what you want, just dont spread rumors

Audio CD quality is 1411.2 bitrate, OBVIOUSLY the original sounds the best, the more you compress it the worse it degrades, same with video
320kbps is the highest officially supported mp3 bitrate, that means it takes up teh most space becuase it has the LEAST compression, which means it WILL sound the best

that is a FACT not an opinion, anything you google will tell you the same thing, wiki agrees, the people who make the mp3 encoders agree with that statement. People who arent hearing impared will also agree with that statement

disagreeing with that is stupid zzk, and it makes you sound stupid, which isnt the case for most things, you want to think 192 sounds better, go for it, but save some face and dont say that to anyone else

it's CALLED  SEEING FOR YOUR SELF

stop Just reading and TRY DOING s**t FOR YOUR SELF.

Just because the so call BIBLE says there's a God it does not make it True.

AND this all started with me Just saying 192 is better then 320 AS I MYSELF  tested it and Know for a FACT it sounds Better.

And one last thing for you.
