It's Very easy to do that really Just in your router settings Enable DMZ on the xbox's IP

(note)
Make sure you CHANGE the User name and Pass for longing In  to the Xbox as Everyone will beable to connect to your xbox if you do this.

Yes their is a DMZ check off on your router settings you just need to look for it. And the Transfer speeds only as good as your ISP gives you ex. just like uploading/downloading from photobucket

Hi all,
Great thread, thanks for good info.  A couple questions:

I have an older router, (Dlink) where it does not have "DMZ" option, but has an advanced section where I can Enable Virtual Server and enter the IP address.  Is this synonomous to the DMZ instructions you give here?

Lastly:  When you say "Change this to your real IP", is this simple the same IP as my xbox I'm currently using?  Or is this the IP that my ISP is providing for example what IPChicken says?  Which one?

DD

Virtual Server is about the same thing. It's not DMZ but is where you setup port forwarding. If you want to open port 21 for FTP you'll do so under Virtual Server.
