Title: Mail Client???
Post by: Coburn on October 13, 2007, 04:17:14 PM
OK, I have got Magic Mail and I was wondering if I was correct about this: Is the:
Alias: my name
User: my username on the mail client
Host: the website of the mail. I.E. Yahoo, Hotmail
Password:Duh, my password
Are those correct? What should I put in the Host part for these: Yahoo, Hotmail, and AOL? http://www.mail.yahoo.com/ and so on don't work.

I think you need a Pop3  mail

Most ISP's give you free Pop3s

My isp gives 20 pop3's for each connection you pay for. That is way too many...

Go to a site that tells you your ip and check out the hostname, they usually look like 19-68-654-684.ip.yourisp.com so you could just use that to go to the site.

OK, I found my ISP another way, but I dont know if they give free Email addresses. My ISP is MicroServ Technologies Inc. I don't know if they give free emails OR free webspace. I want both  :'(

ISP webspace sucks, the only good thing about it is the speed.

Call and ask them if the provide any of those services...

You can use a Mail Client with webmail, but instead of setting up as POP, u have to set it up as IMAP... If u refer to the help section (i assume it has one) of your email client, it should show you how to set it up for webmail. Even the website from where you have your webmail might have some help for that.

yahoo provides a setup guide how to setup there mail in outlook, so it should work with any client i presume...

nvm, after reading up, now its only for yahoo mail plus users, it use to be for all users.
