ok, so i bought an xbox off of some guy that was already modded. yesterday i reinstalled the ms dash and it worked just fine, i could reboot, turn it off and it would play just fine...now im getting the stupid xbox live is updating screen loop and cant get past it. does anybody have a solution to this problem?

well, its getting past the unlocking stage so it may be possible to hotswap a brand new dash into it.

would there be any other way to do it? is it possible to install a 320GB hdd without a modchip?

you have to get the eeprom. connect the xbox to the internet and let the update happen. then you should be able to get your eeprom and create your hdd usin hdm

nope, tried that it just hangs and says the same thing....i might have to use the eeprom on my other xbox.....

haha. unless u got a pic programmer to get it from your current and adding it to your new eeprom on the motherboard it wont work. give it some time, me or some1 else might think of a solution

well what i was going to do was take my other xbox, cuz its not modded, softmod that with ndure 1.1, then take the eeprom from that one, build a disc with xboxhdm and reformat the 320GB one (crapped up one thats in the infinite live update loop) on windows, then use the xboxhdm disc and format the 320gb one to swap in as a replacement for my other xbox so that i'll have it working again. :D would that work? i'll lose everything but w.e as long as i can get my xbox up again. so here it is again

1) take out 320GB and format under windows (as if its going to be a secondary drive to my comp)
2) softmod my other xbox
3)save the eeprom from the 2nd xbox and build a xboxhdm disc (so i can make multiple hdds for the 2nd xbox)
4)reformat the 320gb one again but with the disc i made with the 2nd xbox's eeprom
5)install new 320GB into 2nd xbox and sell 1st xbox for parts.

does that sound good?

is the 320gb in the looping one?

regretfully yes....so i was just going to reformat it under windows....

softmod the orig xbox. get the eeprom. get hdm. make new drive. no need for formatting the drive under windows. but first try  ftp into the looping xbox. ifyou somhow get the ipa nd get into it u can put in a new msdash and have no need for the other xbox

yea i tried ftping, it would seem like it would connect, but then it wouldnt show up in flashfxp..no biggie tho, im only gonna lose like a ton of shows such as :

complete simpson
complete family guy
complete futurama
complete spongebob
lots of movies
tons of music
complete snes, nes, genesis, atari, n64

and so much more!!! BUT!!!! thats where good ol torrentleech comes in again. :D you were a really big help and i thank you soo much!

i would just Hotswap into the xbox HDD see Whats wrong And  fix it

i would do that, but of all the hotswaps ive done (only like 8) 3 of them failed and fried.....so i don wanna chance it..

u can keep all ure shows if u use hdm like ure makin a new drive but just lock it to ure xboxs eeprom. no need to lose hours of d/l cos ure notshure about hotswappin. if ya need help wit hotswappin talk to zzk cos hes like da god of hotswappin! (lickarse) haha

ok, now for some reason i cant softmod! i copied the gamesave (ndure) and it loads but then just hangs and its a blank screen.....im usin 007....ive done this before, start mission, quit, then load, but it just goes to black screen....the mem card works perfectly cuz its a new xbox mem card...ugh...

try a new gamesave frm da files section. if it doesnt work den u got a patched game

i thought only platinum hits was patched...

it certainly sounds patched! ask some one else for alend ofthe game to see if its dat
